The construction of the new Hermes business premises in Waldneukrichen is finished.
The architecture of the building is based on the one of the Palacio de Congresos in Badajoz (Spain), which is one of the most emblematic modern buildings in Spain and considered as the architectural landmark of Badajoz. The appearance of the congress and concert center Palacio de Congresos, which is widely apparent, is shaped by a circular outer ring around a rotund building. During the day the shadowing wall transforms the glaring sunlight into comfortable diffused light. The exhibition On-Site: New Architecture in Spain in the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York showed in the year 2006 a total of 52 buildings and construction projects in Spain, among them as well the model of the conference palace of Badajoz.
Karl Odorizzi – architect of the business premises – tries to communicate wholeheartedly enthusiasm to the point of the rawness of expression. His buildings are cultural manifests.

In the course of the opening of our new headquarters in Waldneukirchen and with the occasion of our 15th anniversary we organized a celebration together with namable guests.
Our long lasting customers and business partners made use of this opportunity to receive information about current trends in the branch through interesting lectures. Many of them seized the opportunity in order to enlarge their network of business partners and associates. Hermes provided a very pleasant program including moderation, cabaret, show act and live music.
The lectures dealt with the solutions of the participant partners; moreover, Hermes organized presentation points where interested guests could receive direct information.
GLORY Europe
The first lecture: Glory Europe presented its solutions. The Glory cash counting machine/solution can be attached to the Hermes POS system – just like a cash dispenser. The integration insures a secure Cash Management process ranging from payment steps to the daily closure – without the direct intervention of the employees. The customer pays his bills with coins and paper money at the cash counting machine and the latter confirms the payment to the Hermes cash register. The money is kept secure in the machine and the money supply is administered in an own vault program.
Igel Technology
The second lecture presented the thin clients of Igel Technology. Such a system is really complicated, as it is designed and developed especially for the cash hardware application area. Igel POS offers a number of advantages compared to the conventional cash registers:
Ametras Informatik
Ametras Informatik presented its automatic bill recording and control system. Worldwide there is still a considerable number of bills, forms, inbox post and other documents being manually processed. The Ametras OCR solution dissolves the manual registration of a number of data from countless paper documents. The processes are more rapid and transparent and the employees are released from the annoying routine work – this saves time and dramatically lowers the costs.
Hermes international
What would be a Hermes in-house exhibition without a lecture from the hosts? The lecture of Miss Anca Istrate presented the process of internationality that Hermes went through in the last years together with its customers - especially the “East European attack”. The East European expansion, ahead with Hungary, Slovenia and Slovakia is interesting for every company and an appropriate expansion in these countries is supported by the fiscal process of the Hermes cash register systems. The workflow of such a “coverage” was presented in detail. A slight outlook reveals the planned implementation of fiscal process in countries like Greece, the Ukraine, Russia or Turkey.
The new Hermes location presented itself at evening in a lounge ambiance – pleasant atmosphere for enjoyable conversations and live music. Spitz Catering pampered our guests with an 8 course Flying Dinner menu, while the barkeeper enchanted the guests with an exciting fire show and an impressive artistic program.
We celebrated together with our guests with long drinks and jazz music till the early morning hours and will definitely remember the days as a pleasant event.
Hermes Software is also planning for the following years an in-house exhibition, which allows everyone to present new developments in the cash system domain and extend their network of partners.

- Lower energy consumption through efficient architecture
- Comfortable in-house maintenance of the appliance
- The intelligent implementation of Compact Flash data medium enables the “relocation” of entire software ensembles, and this makes the on the spot change of hardware a child game
- The included configuration software brings joy to every administrator. Central configuration with drag and drop functions.

XXXLutz – the second largest furniture dealer of the world opened a furnishing house in XXXL-dimensions in Munich. 46,000 m2 total sales floor – 6,000 m2 of that belonging to the cash and carry market Mömax. Another highlight is the XXXLutz restaurant offering 500 seats.
About 65 million euros were invested by the Begros member. According to company statements this is the largest investment the corporate group made in a single location. Marketing director Helmuth Götz announced to the newspaper “Süddeutsche Zeitung”: This is a very special furnishing house to us. That is to say it is our flagship.
The location near Munich, the size and width of the product proposal ranging from access to premium-segments make this store unique. Reiko Trojer will act as the executive director of the new store. Above all there will emerge 600 more jobs at the location, 400 of them full-time.
With the new Lutz-palace Munich even more turns into the focus of furniture. In the surroundings have already settled down several competitors: Segmüller (Atlas) in Parsdorf, Ikea in Eching and Brunnthal, Mahler (Union) in Wolfratshausen and last but not least Möbel Höffner in Freiham. However, the Austrians already run a store in Munich that should continue to exist. Götz does not see any problem with the concentration of furnishing houses in the region. He told the newspaper: “When relating the amount of inhabits of Munich and the furnishing houses it turns out that the region is still short in furniture stores.” He even anticipates 8,000 to 10,000 visitors on a Saturday in Aschheim.

The adjustment of the value added tax from 20 % to 25 % in Hungary was transformed successfully. Hermes customers – like Intersport, XXXLutz, Möbeloase, Lapker, Bauhaus and Hervis – are adapted at the moment.
The new requirements concerning the redenomination into euro, layout and reporting as well as rounding up to five forint were added.
